I tried my hand at coleslaw recipe today. I started out by reading this basic recipe and then I read Todd Wilbur’s KFC Recipe. I love KFC coleslaw, but my stomach can’t handle milk. So I combined the two into my own recipe.

Apple Pie BBQ Sauce

I started with the Sweet-and-Smoky Barbecue Sauce and then added my own extras to the sauce, like apple juice. I call it the Apple Pie BBQ Sauce, because it reminds me of the spices and flavors in an apple pie. The sauce combines well with my Apple pie rub.

Apple Pie Rub

My wife and her mother really like sweet barbecue. I came up with the following rub I have called the Apple Pie Rub to meet their taste buds. I have used it on beef, pork and tofu with success. I wouldn’t suggest it for chicken or fish however. I call this the apple pie rub because it reminds me of an apple pie with the cinnamon, sugar, allspice, nutmeg and cloves. I usually let the rub site for 12 hours in the fridge. The recipe is as follows:

Masterbuilt Smoker Modifications
